Itinerary
We will begin by doing a walking tour of the historic center, where we will unlock some of its secrets. At the heart of Sintra, we will find the National Palace, which has Moorish foundations dating back to the 10th century.
Quinta da Regaleira. A very enigmatic estate built from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, which some say it’s related to the Freemasons.
Built for Sir Francis Cook in the 19th century, the palace's interior will undoubtedly carry you inside the tales of the Arabian Nights.
A fortification built in the 9th century by the moors.
Pena Palace, the crown jewel of Sintra. King D. Fernando II built this Palace in the 19th century, and it’s a true example of the romanticism presence here in Portugal.
Built in the 16th century, the convent looks carved inside the rocks. It’s a very peaceful and enchanted place in the middle of the forest.
Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, where the land ends and the sea begins, as said Camões, the famous Portuguese poet from the 16th century.

About Sintra
Sintra is a hill town west of Lisbon, wrapped in misty forest and crowned by a Moorish castle, a colourful Romantic palace and mysterious gardens.
Sintra is a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape on the Serra de Sintra, a granite ridge that catches Atlantic mist and keeps the hills green and cool. Portuguese kings and nobles built summer palaces here. The Pena Palace, a painted fantasy of yellow and red towers, sits on the highest hill, while the Moorish Castle's walls climb the ridge nearby, and the old centre has the Sintra National Palace, recognisable by its two conical chimneys.
Top-ranked sights in Sintra: Quinta da Regaleira, Convent of the Capuchos.
