4Excellent Tour of the Area
Audrey was our tour guide. She picked us up from the port and drove us throughout the day. She was knowledgeable and fun and provided a lot of local information and fun insights into the region. This is a busy day, but well worth it.

About Villefranche-sur-Mer
Villefranche-sur-Mer is a small Riviera port on a deep natural harbour, with ochre houses above the quay, a citadel and a chapel painted by Cocteau.
Villefranche-sur-Mer climbs a steep hillside around a deep natural harbour just east of Nice, its ochre and pink houses stacked above the quay. The town was founded in 1295 by the Count of Provence, and the sixteenth-century Citadelle Saint-Elme still guards the water, with the town hall and small museums inside. The Rue Obscure, a vaulted medieval passage running under the houses, is one of the oldest streets in town.
