  • 5Excellent Wine-Tasting Experience

Our guide, Sonia was knowledgeable and fun! We went to two small wineries for tastings of excellent, quality wine, and then spent about an hour on our own in mid-evil St. Emillion. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend!

  • 5Perfect half day trip for a stay in Bordeaux

Small group, comfortable drive and knowledgeable guide made this made this a great choice for our stay in Bordeaux. Not too much driving. Great way to visit St Emilion, definitely worth it. And two distinct wineries with superb wines. Particularly appreciated they were smaller, family run, multi generational wineries. Highly recommend

  • 5Great tour

Pleasant drive out to Saint Emilion to taste local wines at two wineries. Also stopped at the village for a visit and coffee break. Our guide was really interesting and the small group was fun and friendly.

  • 3Misleading experience but ok for price point

We picked this tour for the ratings and price point, but honestly the experience was misleading given the ratings and photos on the site. There was the bare minimum of snacks (and part of group ate essentially all of them, which was quite inconsiderate…), and while the grand cru winery and tasting was good, it was quite fast and rushed. The larger estate was large but we didn’t do any of the things described in the posting such as actually see the vineyard, or hear about the specific processes and history of saint emillion wines. Our guide was kind but also offered similarly the bare essentials of information, which we filled in the gaps ourselves later on in our time in Bordeaux.

About Bordeaux

Bordeaux, on the Garonne in south-west France, is a stone-fronted port city and the centre of one of the world's great wine regions.

The pale limestone façades of the eighteenth century give Bordeaux an elegant, even look, and the curve of the Garonne, the Port of the Moon, is part of its UNESCO listing. Place de la Bourse faces the river, and the Miroir d'eau, a shallow reflecting pool, mirrors it. The Grand Théâtre, Saint-André Cathedral with its separate Pey-Berland tower, and the long pedestrian Rue Sainte-Catherine make up the centre.

Top-ranked sights in Bordeaux: Place de la Bourse (Place Royale), Porte Cailhau, Grosse Cloche.
