Itinerary
We’ll depart early from Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, watching the sunrise over the Andes. Our guide will introduce the history of the Sacred Valley and its importance to the Incas. From here, we’ll take a scenic route toward Chinchero, passing high Andean landscapes and picturesque villages along the way.
In Chinchero, you’ll discover a vibrant Andean village where Inca traditions are still alive. Visit the colorful local market and watch artisans demonstrate traditional weaving and dyeing techniques using natural plants. Explore Inca ruins and the colonial church built upon ancient stone walls, a perfect example of cultural fusion.
At Moray, we’ll explore fascinating circular terraces once used by the Incas as an agricultural research center. Each level created a different microclimate to experiment with crops. Learn how these terraces reflect the Incas’ advanced knowledge of farming, environment, and science amid stunning mountain scenery.
We’ll continue to Maras, home to more than 3,000 salt ponds used since pre-Inca times. Discover how locals still harvest salt using ancestral techniques. The dazzling white terraces glimmer under the sun, creating one of the most photogenic landscapes in the Sacred Valley.
Explore Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns in Peru. Visit its massive stone fortress, learn about Inca leaders like Manco Inca, and walk along the original cobblestone streets still inhabited today. Enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the surrounding Andes.

About Cusco
Cusco, the old Inca capital high in the Peruvian Andes, blends massive stone walls with colonial churches and is the gateway to Machu Picchu.
The Plaza de Armas is the heart of the city, framed by the cathedral and the Jesuit church of La Compañía. Inca stonework survives throughout the centre, most famously at the Qorikancha, the sun temple on which the Spanish built a monastery, and in the twelve-angled stone on Hatun Rumiyoc street. San Blas, the artisans' quarter, climbs steeply with workshops and cafés.
Top-ranked sights in Cusco: Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo Ruins.
