We will pass by Bairro alto, one of the oldest neighborhoods, that used to house fish shops, commerce and bars. Nowadays, it houses plenty of restaurants and trendy bards - one of the most popular areas of Lisbon. Pass-by for a picture.
This is one of the most important churches in Lisbon. A beautiful baroque and neoclassic basilica, which was the firs in the world, dedicated to Jesus Holy Heart.
The Jeronimos monastery construction started in 1501 and took almost 100 years to be built. It is an amazing example of Portuguese late gothic - manueline architecture. Being a symbol of the Portuguese discoveries of the 16th century, and particularly the arrival of Vasco da Gama to India, it was the prayer site of departure point to the amazing adventures across the Atlantic. You will visit the church (not the monastery) and take pictures - the guide will give you the historical context
Stop to grab a delicious "Pastel de Belém", the best custard tart. Then walk around Belém: one of the most beautiful areas of Lisbon. Famous for its amazing monuments, celebrating the discoveries in Europe of the 15th century, became one of the most amazing neighbourhoods - with lovely views, ideal for a nice family lunch.
Belém tower is one of the most important symbols of the discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe. An impressive manueline fortification, with over 500 years old. Served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. We will stop for pictures and continue back to central Lisbon.
Rua Augusta Arch is a memorial arch-like, historical building at Praça do Comércio, representing a door to Lisbon, and commemorating the city's reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake. This was the place of several relevant historical moments. We will stop for a quick overview and continue to our last stop.
Baixa de Lisboa, also known as downtown Lisbon, is the city’s elegant and lively heart, rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake in a striking neoclassical style. With its grand plazas, wide avenues, and grid-like layout, Baixa is home to iconic spots like Praça do Comércio, Rua Augusta, and Rossio Square. Lined with traditional cafés, boutiques, and historic buildings, the area blends old-world charm with vibrant urban life. It's the perfect place to soak in Lisbon's atmosphere, whether you're admiring the architecture, shopping for local goods, or simply enjoying a pastel de nata at a sidewalk café.

About Lisbon
Lisbon spills down its hills to the Tagus estuary, a city of tiled façades, rattling yellow trams, viewpoint terraces and late, unhurried dinners.
The old quarters hold most of the charm. Alfama's tangle of lanes climbs to São Jorge Castle and echoes with fado in the evening, the Baixa's orderly grid runs down to the vast Praça do Comércio on the river, and Bairro Alto and Chiado mix bookshops and cafés by day with bars by night. Viewpoints such as Santa Luzia and Senhora do Monte frame red rooftops and shining water.
Top-ranked sights in Lisbon: Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), Pena National Palace (Palacio Nacional da Pena), Alfama.
