• 5Wild experience in the rainforest of Khao Sok

  I did this tour with a friend, having Aris as a guide. A part from some technical problems with our boat at the beginning, we were transported into a small camp hidden tin the jungle, on the close river, without Wi-Fi nor signal. This was incredible, as we spent 2 days fully immersed in Nature, between Safari and trekking activities . The expertise of our guide led us to 2 different encounters with wild elephant. Food was good and stuff helpful, I strongly recommend to bring all the objects indicated, especially the mosquito repellent, as many leeches are found during trekking. We closed our experience visiting a specific place in the park that inspired Pandora scenarios (planet in Avatar)

• 5Nuna our the tour guide was amazing!

  We took the 2 days 1 night trip in Khao Sok with Discovery Land Khao Lak. The company took care of everything which was very good. I will start with saying how helpful was the booking process with David from Siam Advanture. We stayed the night in Rock and Treehouse resort that was very comfortable and beautiful. Our the tour guide was amazing and exceptional. She has taken care of each and every individual in the group. For example (one out of many), some people came with flip flops to the jungle walk and she gave one of them her personal shoes. Nuna have a lot of knowledge and she made effort to verify that everyone understands her. It was a rainy day in Khao Sok with very limited view but Nuna was trying to do whatever it is possible to ease the situation and the inconvenient. I really appreciate Nuna’s tremendous effort and care.

  What amazing trip , our Guide was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy . Our accommodations was a bamboo hut on the lake which wasn’t what we expected but which added to the experience . The driver of the longboat was amazing knowing all the nooks and crannies of the lake navigated perfectly even in the dark with only head torch . We saw lots of monkeys , otters deer , a few iguanas, one of which ran up the beach as we approached which was just like watching a David Attenborough documentary. We thought the big animals had avoided us but on way back on day 2 we spotted an elephant. Wow! What a treat and he wasn’t bothered by us watching him take a mud bath so we sat and watched quietly taking lots of pictures. I cannot express how magical this trip was and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see the real Thailand and its habitants. U will definitely need long trousers or long socks and shorts and a really good mosquito and leach spray for your trek in the jungle

• 5GREAT ADVENTURE!

  Amazing experience. Be ready for a real adventure and wildlife jungle. The accommodation was nice, beautiful water front, hence don't expect it to be a 5 stars hotel. Restrooms were nice and clean, require a bit of hike, no shower but there is still an option to wash yourself or you can just jump from your room in the lake to swim. We saw different animals and our guide Ariz was amazing. Organization and service was great, food was good, fresh and tasty as well.

• 5Beautiful Nature Experience

  Highly recommend this tour. Rolo our guide was fantastic. He was helpful and passionate about the wildlife and park. The food prepared was delicious. Beds and huts were comfortable. Toilet was just uphill. Expect to be "roughing it" for 1 night, but completely worth it for the views and closeness to nature. Our favorite part of visiting Thailand

  I loved this trip. Khao Sok is a wonder on this earth and I felt very privileged to experience it. Everything is taken care off, all transport from your hotel to the huts on the river and back. Be aware that you sit for hours on a longtail boat, it's not very comfortable after an hour and this is a third of you trip activities. The huts and toilet are very basic but clean and comfortable. I loved the hut on the river, I could've spent more time just there. The way to get from the hut to the toilet and common area is a little tricky but I'm very clumsy and if I can do it so does everyone 😛 The food was really good and the people are very kind. I saw monkeys, deer, birds and lizards. Just don't expect it and you need heaps of patience. The guide really did try to spot an elephant but no luck there. I think the only reason why this trip doesn't get a 5 star is because the guide got a little obsessed with finding an elephant and like I said before it gets very uncomfortable in the boat and it just took too long. He doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the area, or at least he didn't share it. His main language is German and we had a lot of German people in the group so I get that it is a natural reaction to speak German. He tried to speak English and include me, as did the rest of the Group. The guide could've given more information in general and always in English cause sometimes I didn't know what was said. But to end with a positive note. Do it!! It sooooo worth it! Enjoy!!

About Khao Lak

Khao Lak is a long strip of sandy Andaman coast north of Phuket, with rainforest hills behind, waterfalls and boats to the Similan Islands.

Khao Lak runs for some twenty kilometres along the Andaman Sea in Phang Nga province, about eighty kilometres north of Phuket. Wide beaches such as Khuk Khak, Nang Thong and Bang Niang are backed by rubber and palm plantations and hills covered in rainforest. Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park protects the forest and waterfalls behind the coast. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami struck this shore, and memorials stand along it.
