Itinerary
Coffee break after driving one and half hour in front of the Atlantic Ocean.
After driving more or less 30 min from Aglou beach we reach Legziera . Legziera, the wild beach is famous for its astronomical arches of rock formation and red earth carved by the Atlantic Ocean and is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Morocco. Located about 180 km south of Agadir in the region of Sidi Ifni, the beach is very attractive with stunning scenery and great waves appreciated by hikers and surfers from all over the world.
The city was founded in 1882 by the Alawite Sultan Hassan I who endowed it, in 1883, with a long wall still encircling the old medina. Later, the 1886 expedition strengthened the Sultan's power in the region, which grew in importance in the face of Spanish attempts to settle in Ifni after the Spanish-Moroccan War of 1860.
After driving more less one hour from Sidi Ifni we reach Guelmim city. Located 200 km south of Agadir, 110 km from Tiznit and 30 km from the Atlantic Ocean and 54 km from Sidi ifni, The city is considered the gateway to the Sahara in Morocco. It was once a caravan center on the road to Timbuktu. Today, it is an important place of trade and exchange between the sedentary population and the nomads of the desert. It is notably home to a weekly camel market, known as “Amhayrich”, which is the largest camel market in Morocco taking place only on saturday morning. After a short visite to the city we stop for a short tea break.
After driving one and half hour from Guelmim we reach El borj village in the south-east of Morocco. Very modest village founded by the nomade coming from far away in the desert. After 45 min on a rough road from this village we reach the sand dunes where our camp is settled. Once arrived at the camp, you’ll be served a well-deserved mint tea accompanied by Moroccan pastries after which you'll marvel at the sunset and the stunning spectrum of light on the golden sand dunes after which you'll return to the bivouac for dinner under a gorgeous sky full of stars accompanied by a Sahraoui music show performed by young locals around a campfire. Overnight is scheduled in a nomad tent to experience and appreciate firsthand the living conditions of the locals. The next day and after breakfast, back to the oasis again for a brief stop then continue the journey back to Agadir borrowing an alternative itinerary through the Anti Atlas Mountains for a change of scenery.
After driving more less 15 min from Legzira we reach Sidi infni town. Sidi Ifni, (ex-Spanish enclave). Lunch on site ( fish specialty: grilled sardines, fried fish and chips..., and others... "Lunch is not included")
After a good two hours from the camp on the way back to Agadir we stop in Tiznit city known of it's silver jewelry , we will visit the old medina, the souk (market), the spring, and a tour of the ancient walls.
