Highlights

Cocktail culture was born during Prohibition when alcohol was so potent and nose curling that bartenders and home brewers started combining mixers with the booze to make it more palatable! We follow the tradition of those early mixologists and will help you learn how to make proper Prohibition Era cocktails. So come and enjoy a 2 hour "Intimate Cocktail Class" with award-winning bartenders at a 1920's "Speakeasy" in the American Prohibition Museum!

  • 510/10 Would Recommend

This cocktail class was so much fun! We learned a lot about the history and the science of cocktail making. We got to watch and learn how the cocktail was made and then taste test it. Then we got to make our own. They even let us use our choice of liquor for the last cocktail. We got to ask specific questions and learn techniques for making some great classic cocktails. They also gave us complimentary snacks and a free stirrer (or whatever it’s called). 10/10 would recommend, especially if you want to learn a thing or two about making some great classic cocktails. P.S. Our instructor was great but I unfortunately can’t remember his name right now. But he seemed very knowledgeable and he was funny.

  • 5Finding your inner mixologist

So much fun! My husband and I wanted to try something different while in Savannah and this was great! The Prohibition Museum’s upstairs bar set the stage for learning as we were surrounded by different memorabilia and recreations. Our teacher was fantastic and gave a lot of history surrounding alcohol, prohibition, etc. Learned I have a natural shakers arm and I make a mean daiquiri!

  • 4Fun but pricey

It was fun, learned about making cocktails but could have used more variety of cocktails and seemed a bit pricey for what we did

About Savannah

Savannah is a Georgia coastal city of oak-shaded squares, Spanish moss, cobbled riverfront streets and beautifully kept Southern architecture.

Savannah was founded in 1733 by James Oglethorpe as the first city of the colony of Georgia, and he laid it out on a grid built around small public squares. Twenty-two of the squares survive, shaded by live oaks draped in Spanish moss and filled with fountains and monuments. Forsyth Park, with its white fountain, is the largest green space in the historic district, and the Cathedral of St John the Baptist rises with twin spires.
