Itinerary
The Giant Rosary is one of the most distinctive attractions at Cerro del Cubilete, designed as a monumental representation of one of the most important symbols of Catholic devotion. Visitors can walk alongside its oversized beads while learning about the significance of the Rosary in Christian tradition and its role in prayer and meditation. Surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the sanctuary, the Giant Rosary offers a unique combination of religious symbolism, impressive architecture, and scenic views, making it an unforgettable stop for pilgrims, families, and travelers interested in the cultural and spiritual heritage of Guanajuato.
The Monument to Christ the King, located at the top of the Cerro del Cubilete, is one of the most emblematic symbols of the Catholic faith in Mexico. Its construction began in the 1940s to commemorate the religious devotion of the Mexican people, particularly in the post-revolutionary era and after the Cristero War, which defended freedom of worship. The statue, 20 metres high, was erected in the geographical centre of the country and depicts Christ King of Peace with outstretched arms as a protective figure. This site has been a point of pilgrimage and is testimony to the religious history of the country.

About Guanajuato
Guanajuato is a silver-mining city in the Mexican highlands, a World Heritage town of steep alleys, underground roads and colourful houses.
Guanajuato lies at about 2,000 metres in a narrow valley of central Mexico, and its houses in blue, yellow and rose climb the hillsides in tiers. Spanish miners founded it in the sixteenth century on the strength of rich silver veins, and its old centre, with the baroque Basílica Colegiata, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Old river tunnels now carry traffic beneath the centre, so many of its roads run underground.
