5Great day great guide
It was great Definitely a must do Sandals would have been nice so I could walk in the water. But did a lot of walking so it was good to have the sneakers
4Excellent ground transport, but not a walking tour
While the ground transport to the two locations was excellent with a nice ride and friendly driver, this is not an actual tour. In Aux en Provence, we were just left on our own for the entire time. It would have been better if this included a 30min walking tour of the town, and then free time.
5Great day out
We had a great day with our driver/guide Caroline. She took us to Aix en Provence first so we wouldn't miss the markets. She walked us through the city for half an hour to help us get our baring then we had 2hrs to wander on our own. Cassis was amazing too. As we were the only people on the tour, and I was feeling unwell towards the end, Caroline drove us to our hotel instead of meeting point. So grateful to her. Highly recommend this tour especially in the middle of summer when its hot, getting around in a/c is essential
5Highly recommend! Lovely trip!
Excellent itinerary, with a great guide Sebastian. Pickup was easy, the van was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed the knowledge our guide provided along the way
5Sebastian is a great...
Sebastian is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable and professional. We recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Marseilles area.
4Beautiful destination, but it would have been better if we had more time
The places included in the tour are undoubtedly beautiful and highlight the beauty of the Provence region. The view of the beach of Cassis and Calanques was excellent, and Aix-en-Provence was also very attractive. However, the time seemed to be relatively short in each place, so the opportunity to move around on your own was limited.. Although the transportation was good, the trip was a bit of a hassle. Still, it's a good introductory tour for first time visitors.
Marseille, France's oldest city, is a Mediterranean port of old forts, hilltop basilicas and limestone coves, and the home of bouillabaisse.
Greek sailors founded Marseille around 600 BC, making it the oldest city in France. The Vieux-Port is its centre, a long harbour ringed by cafés and the morning fish stalls, guarded by two forts at its mouth. On a hill above, the basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde carries a gilded statue of the Virgin Mary and shows the harbour and the islands from its terrace.
Top-ranked sights in Marseille: Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica (La Bonne Mère), Old Port of Marseille (Vieux Port), Vallon des Auffes.
