Highlights

Elephants are free to roam, forage for food, explore their surroundings, and interact naturally with their environment. There are no chains, no hooks, no cages, and no performances. Every aspect of the sanctuary exists to support the elephants’ physical and emotional well-being. Visitors are welcomed as observers, not participants. This allows guests to witness authentic elephant behavior—something far more meaningful than staged interactions. Ethical Tourism That Educates and Inspires We believe that responsible tourism can be a powerful force for positive change. At Elephant Pride Sanctuary, visitors are invited to learn, observe, and connect emotionally—without touching or controlling the animals. Guides share knowledge about elephant behavior, social structures, communication

Itinerary

  1. Elephant Pride Sanctuary: A Place Where Elephants Are Free to Be Themselves At Elephant Pride Sanctuary, we believe that true elephant care begins with respect. Respect for their intelligence, their emotions, their natural behaviors, and most importantly, their freedom to choose how they live their lives. Our sanctuary is built on a simple but powerful philosophy: elephants should never be forced to entertain humans, and humans should never control elephants for their own pleasure. This is a place where elephants are not touched, not ridden, not commanded, and not trained to perform. Instead, they are allowed to be exactly what they are—elephants living freely, peacefully, and happily in a natural environment. Elephants are highly intelligent and emotionally complex beings. Many elephants have experienced years of stress, control, or exploitation in the past. Allowing them to live without constant human interference helps them rebuild trust, confidence, and natural behavior patterns.

About Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is northern Thailand's cultural capital, a moated old city of temples, markets and crafts surrounded by forested mountains.

The old city, ringed by a square moat and the remains of brick walls, holds dozens of temples, among them the elegant Wat Phra Singh and the ruined great chedi of Wat Chedi Luang. Above town, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep crowns a mountain, reached by a staircase lined with serpents, with views across the valley.

Top-ranked sights in Chiang Mai: Doi Inthanon National Park, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Golden Triangle.
