  • 1Worst ATV Tour Ever

Terrible! The equipment is worn and unsafe with holes in the ATV seats and gloves and faulty brakes. We never went off road in the desert, through canyons or onto the beach (as pictured in the photos). The route started with a spin around downtown Loreto in front of Loreto sign and pier then we traveled to a dirt access road that was a dump site on either side for about a city block. Disgusting! We road through turkey vultures fighting over something dead and the smell was awful. After passing through the trash, we continued on this dirt road for approx 2 miles. On either side were fenced off areas of desert on one side (private property) and private residences on the other. We finally ended at a clearing with sight of the waterfront. Mayte says you guys can snorkel here. What? The description didn't mention snorkeling. It would have been great because it was sweltering hot. But we weren't prepared for snorkeling and after inspecting the "entry point", it was quite dangerous. There was no beach area. We would have had to jump off a low cliff and not sure how we would have climbed back up. Crazy! The photos look like a great, fun adventure. It was far from that. We love ATV tours. This one wins Worst ATV Tour EVER!

  • 5We had such a great time...

We had such a great time during the ATV excursion! They kept a close eye on our group to make sure we were all safe during the ride. They were awesome guides and made this such a memorable journey. We would definitely do this again!

  • 5Baja butterfly ride with burritos

Our guide Josue took good care of us, he knew the area. On our half way stop offered burritos and soda. On any ride a blessing. Delicious. He took us on a fun adventure hills and dry riverbeds and the recent rains there was a bloom of flowers and butterflies against the rugged landscape of Baja it was magic. There was a horse on the trail. I’m sure it’s going to be in very big trouble at home. It moved away quickly but so fun to see. Hope we can come back and do the ATV ride with Josue again.

About Loreto

Loreto is a small town on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California Sur, with the first permanent mission of the Californias and a marine park offshore.

Loreto sits on the Gulf of California, also called the Sea of Cortez, on the eastern coast of the Baja California peninsula, below the Sierra de la Giganta mountains. In 1697 Jesuit missionaries founded the mission of Nuestra Señora de Loreto here, the first permanent mission in the Californias, and the town was the capital of the Spanish territory for decades. The stone mission church and its museum stand in the old centre.
