• 5super boat trip

  superb from start to finish - excellent and spacious boat with plenty of room above and below. Very pleasant crew members with a good sense of humour and excellent skills in delivering information and knowledge across a variety of languages. First class buffet food provision with all tastes catered for and a plentiful supply laid out. Endless supply of wine and beer, small glasses provided, and a DJ on board for return leg with music to suit tastes both young and old participating in dancing on top deck if desired. A really enjoyable 4 hour trip with gorgeous weather that obviously helped across the stunning Algarve coastline. To my mind excellent value for money and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to all the crew. Not sure about the pricing from GetYourGuide it appears to be misleading from what you actually have to pay when booking i.e. it looks as if 3 people should cost £42x3 from the price that is advertised but I ended up paying £142

• 1No care for passenger safety

  Very disappointing experience. During the trip the sea became extremely rough and the catamaran was moving so violently that my pregnant partner could not safely stand. Passengers were being thrown around by the movement and other passengers also decided to leave the tour. There was nothing on our booking warning that the experience was unsuitable for pregnant passengers. We had fully intended to complete the trip, but the conditions reached a point where we did not feel it was safe for my partner to continue. All three of us therefore had to get off early. We were dropped at a port around 40 minutes from where the tour started and had to arrange and pay for a taxi back ourselves. What has made the experience particularly disappointing is the response afterwards. We requested a refund and explained the circumstances in detail. The request was refused, we asked for it to be reviewed again, and Viator ultimately refused to provide any refund at all. I appreciate that sea conditions can change and are outside anyone's control, but I do not think passengers should be left paying the full price when conditions become so severe that they cannot safely complete the experience, particularly when no pregnancy warning was provided beforehand.

  Fantastic experience! Very well organised, lovely staff, strongly recommended! We were in a big group and chose the brunch/open bar one, it was excellent! Delicious food, plenty of drinks and the boat, Espirito Oceanico 2, absolutely gorgeous!

  Great experience, nice and plentiful food and drink. Helpful and friendly crew. Small boat trip into cave well worth it. Would recommend.

• 3Hidden extra.

  Was looking for a boat trip which the family could enjoy. Stumbled upon this through get your guide. The misleading part is you don’t physically get to see the caves unless you pay a €10 per person upgrade upon checking in which I feel is misleading on a cost that was already over €120 I would of rather this stated a boat trip with an additional charge should you wish to not wait till you have booked and paid for only to tell you upon check in it’s an extra. Could not fault the boat, staff or food and drink this was all lovely, we enjoyed the cruise but not the part where we were mislead.

About Albufeira

Albufeira is a former fishing town on Portugal's Algarve coast, with whitewashed old streets, sandy coves below red cliffs and a long summer season.

Albufeira was a fishing town under Moorish rule, its name coming from the Arabic for a lagoon, and its old town still climbs a hill above the water in a tangle of whitewashed alleys and arches. A tunnel leads down to the Fishermen's Beach, where boats once landed their catch, and the clock tower and parish church stand in the centre.
