  • 5Good Tour

Excellent trip. David, the guide, was very knowledgeable and spoke at least two languages. Both the guide and captain were very personable. It was a good trip.

  • 5Great tour

One of our best tours since we have been travelling around Mexico. Edwin, our captain, was fantastic. He was very informative about the lagoon, the animals and the cenotes and was just generally a lovely person. I would highly recommend going on this tour if you are staying in Bacalar.

  • 5An unforgettable experience

Banda and David were amazing! They made us feel welcome from the start. Their knowledge of the lagoon was fantastic and we learnt not only about the lagoon itself but the history of the area. They provided us with drinks and fruit as well as good conversation. We would definitely recommend this tour!

  • 5Excellent Guiding by Dani

Dani was an excellent guide in at least Spanish and English. He was helpful, knowledgeable with the detailed stories that only a local can tell and deeply respected the rules that protect this extraordinary environment. The boat was comfortable and safe and was not over-crowded. We could not have had a better experience on the tour of the Laguna and thoroughly recommend it. Gracias y saludos, Pepe

About Bacalar

Bacalar is a quiet lakeside town in Quintana Roo, beside a long freshwater lagoon of shifting blues known as the Lake of Seven Colours.

Bacalar sits on the western shore of a lagoon about forty kilometres long in the south of Quintana Roo, close to the border with Belize. The water, shallow over white sand and deeper in places, shades from pale turquoise to deep blue, giving the lagoon its name, the Lake of Seven Colours. The Fort of San Felipe, built in the eighteenth century to guard the lagoon from pirates, stands above the town square and holds a small museum.

Top-ranked sights in Bacalar: Lake Bacalar, Cenote de la Bruja, Fuerte San Felipe.
