  • 5We all enjoyed the boat...

We all enjoyed the boat tour. Before the event, we received texts and emails with details about what to expect and where to meet. The instructions were very clear. It was a beautiful night for a sunset cruise. It started out warm but we were glad we had jackets when it got cooler and a little windy. We were offered wine (lots of refills), water and soda. During the cruise, we were told about the sites as we passed them. At the very end, we got some little trays of cheese, sausage and crackers which was very nice. My only suggestion is that we would have appreciated them more if we got them a little earlier in the cruise. The boat crew, hosts and everyone were very nice!

About Lisbon

Lisbon spills down its hills to the Tagus estuary, a city of tiled façades, rattling yellow trams, viewpoint terraces and late, unhurried dinners.

The old quarters hold most of the charm. Alfama's tangle of lanes climbs to São Jorge Castle and echoes with fado in the evening, the Baixa's orderly grid runs down to the vast Praça do Comércio on the river, and Bairro Alto and Chiado mix bookshops and cafés by day with bars by night. Viewpoints such as Santa Luzia and Senhora do Monte frame red rooftops and shining water.

Top-ranked sights in Lisbon: Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), Pena National Palace (Palacio Nacional da Pena), Alfama.
