5Highly recommended
We were so lucky to find AB Expeditions for this trip. They took such great care of both me and my partner. The instructions for meeting points, tickets, and timing were always very clear, which made the whole trip feel smooth and well organized. We even had a feast halfway through the Inca Trail, which was such a nice surprise! A special mention goes to our tour guide, Yiyo. He was very professional and knowledgeable when explaining the history of the Inca civilization and Machu Picchu. I learned so much from this trip—it wasn’t just ordinary sightseeing or simply walking around. His explanations really helped us understand the history and significance of the places we visited. I also loved his sense of humor, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu while also learning about their history and culture.
5Ideal Short Trip
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our guide, Yiyo, was incredibly clear and knowledgeable, and he made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the hike. The lunch was incredible, especially considering everything had to be carried up the mountain and cooked fresh on-site. I’d highly recommend this trip to anyone who is short on time in Peru and can’t fit in the full trail. It’s a fantastic way to experience the hike without committing to the full trek.
5Fabulous Trip
Fantastic trip withAB expeditions. Everything went smoothly and even had a buffet lunch up the mountain. Our guide Maiki made the trip special with his local knowledge and great character. Would highly recommend.
5Exceptional Machu Picchu Experience with Giovanni and AB Expeditions
We had an absolutely amazing experience with AB Expeditions, and our guide, Giovanni, was truly exceptional! From beginning to end, Giovanni was knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and incredibly helpful. His knowledge of Machu Picchu, the Inca history, and the surrounding areas was impressive. He shared so much information throughout the experience, but in a way that was interesting and easy to follow. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does. We also completed an Inca trail of approximately 13–14 km, and Giovanni was wonderful throughout the entire hike. He was patient with us, made sure we were doing well, and helped make the experience enjoyable from start to finish. And I have to mention his photography skills! Giovanni took absolutely incredible photos of us. He knew exactly where to stop, the best angles, and how to capture the scenery. We came home with beautiful memories and photos that we will treasure forever. Another huge highlight was the lunch prepared for us during the hike. Two members of the team carried all of the food up the mountain and prepared an unbelievable meal for us. We were honestly amazed by the amount, variety, and quality of the food. We had fresh fruit, fish, chicken, rice, avocado, ham, cheeses, breads, and so much more. Having a meal like that in the middle of the mountains was something we never expected and made the experience even more special. Machu Picchu was a bucket-list experience for us, and having the right guide was incredibly important. Giovanni delivered everything you could possibly want from a guide: knowledge, patience, professionalism, kindness, great energy, and even amazing photography skills! Thank you, Giovanni and the entire AB Expeditions team, for making this such an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience Machu Picchu. Absolutely 5 stars!
5Bucket List Adventure!
I’ll just start out by saying that AB Expeditions was an amazing company to work with! The price and value of the expeditions were more than we could have imagined. The attention to detail and communication before, during and after were amazing! What really made our trip special was our guide (friend now) Giovani!!! First of all he is an amazing person and you can tell almost the moment that you meet him. His kind nature and professionalism are exactly what any company and client would want. His attention to detail and punctuality are the best! He is very professional and knowledgeable about everything that goes with the business. But more importantly he knows how to bring people together and have an amazing time. We had a group of 8 people that were 4 of us together and 4 others from across the world! Such an amazing experience that was definitely life changing. Giovani knew exactly how to make us all feel welcome, included and happy. If you were anyone you know, wants to book an expedition, please consider this company and do not hesitate to request Giovani! He absolutely goes above and beyond for every single person in his group and I would do it again with this company and him over and over! This was such a special event in our lives and I’m just glad that we had the pleasure to experience it with this company as well as Giovani! Also let me tell you that Giovani takes the most amazing photos!

About Cusco
Cusco, the old Inca capital high in the Peruvian Andes, blends massive stone walls with colonial churches and is the gateway to Machu Picchu.
The Plaza de Armas is the heart of the city, framed by the cathedral and the Jesuit church of La Compañía. Inca stonework survives throughout the centre, most famously at the Qorikancha, the sun temple on which the Spanish built a monastery, and in the twelve-angled stone on Hatun Rumiyoc street. San Blas, the artisans' quarter, climbs steeply with workshops and cafés.
Top-ranked sights in Cusco: Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo Ruins.
