Experience the best of Ko Lipe

Ko Lipe is a small island in Tarutao National Marine Park, in the far south of Thailand's Andaman coast, close to the Malaysian border and the island of Langkawi. The island has three main beaches, Pattaya Beach, Sunrise Beach and Sunset Beach, all with white sand and clear shallow water, and a lively Walking Street of small shops, restaurants and bars. The Urak Lawoi, a seafaring people, have lived here for generations.

Coral reefs surround the island, and boats go from the beaches to neighbouring islands in the park, including Koh Adang, with a jungle walk to a viewpoint, and Koh Rawi, which has small beaches. Koh Hin Ngam is known for smooth black pebbles. Tarutao Island, once a prison island, has caves and rainforest trails.

Seafood is grilled over coals on the beach at night, and southern Thai dishes such as massaman curry, roti with banana and fresh coconut ice cream are widely eaten. The sea is calm from November to April, while May to October brings monsoon rain and rough water.
