Experience the best of Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay is a large sheltered bay on the New South Wales south coast, known for white-sand beaches, dolphins and the bushland of Booderee National Park.

Jervis Bay is a wide, deep, sheltered inlet, with the small town of Huskisson on its western shore and the Beecroft Peninsula forming its northern arm. The southern shore is the Jervis Bay Territory, a small area of Commonwealth land that includes Booderee National Park, managed jointly with the Aboriginal community of Wreck Bay.

Hyams Beach, on the western side, is known for its fine, bright white sand. In Booderee, heath and coastal forest lead to quiet beaches and sea cliffs, and the stone ruins of the Cape St George lighthouse stand on the headland. On the Beecroft Peninsula, the lighthouse at Point Perpendicular overlooks the open sea, and bottlenose dolphins live in the bay itself.

Prawns, oysters and fish and chips are eaten on the wharf at Huskisson, and the calm water suits kayaking and diving among the bay's rocky reefs. Humpback whales pass the mouth of the bay in winter and spring.
