Experience the best of Hershey
Hershey is a chocolate town in central Pennsylvania, laid out around a factory, with streets named for cocoa, a rose garden and an amusement park.

Milton Hershey planned the town from 1903 as a home for the workers at his chocolate factory, and the main streets are Chocolate Avenue and Cocoa Avenue, lit by lamps shaped like Hershey's Kisses. The Hershey Story museum follows the founder's life and the making of chocolate, and Hershey Gardens lays out roses, a Japanese garden and a butterfly house.
Hersheypark began in 1906 as a picnic ground for the factory's employees and has grown into a large amusement park with roller coasters and a zoo. Beyond the town, Blue Mountain and the Appalachian Trail lie to the north, Harrisburg is about twenty kilometres west, and the Amish farmland of Lancaster County is a drive to the south-east.
Chocolate turns up in bars, hot drinks, cakes and ice cream, while the Pennsylvania Dutch kitchens of the surrounding farms add soft pretzels, whoopie pies and shoofly pie. Roller-coaster season fills the town in summer, and the hills around it turn red and gold in October.
