3Bergen walk
The walk around Bergen was very scenic and we really enjoyed that aspect of it. Our guide was entertaining but in general spoke too much and should have focused on the town and its history. What we did not like was his frequent comments about the deficiencies of the Norwegians - he said they are unfriendly and depressed and behave strangely. Having spent most of the previous fortnight with a significant number of Norwegians, all of whom seemed perfectly normal and friendly, we found his comments to be incorrect, unfriendly and insensitive. Norwegians appear to be good at making fun of themselves. What we did not find acceptable was someone who is not Norwegian and who had not lived in Norway for many years making such statements on a guided walk where such comments have no place. He also was factually incorrect when he said that the King of Norway went to stay in the USA during the war. When we told him that the King had gone to London he implied that had been for a short time and the main time was spent in the USA. In fact the King spent all of the war in London though some of the family went to the States.
5Excellent walking tour of Bergen
Sami was an excellent tour guide both informative and funny. With just the right amount of time spent walking and seeing the sights.
5First time in Bergen
Great way to get your bearings of Bergen, Sammi knew the area well and had heaps of stories to tell and some great tips. Had a few issues with the meet up and nearly joined the Spanish group. There was a bit of standing around at the beginning which slowed the process for someoneone wanting to get moving. Some of the street are very steep, care needs to be taken.
5Informative and entertaining...
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Sami. He's very entertaining and possessing a good sense of humour. You get lots of - also quirky - information. It was worth the "investment".
5Sammy was a great host
Sammy was one of our best tour guides. Excellent language skills and sense of humor. We learned a lot about Bergen.

About Bergen
Bergen is Norway's rainy fjord capital, a harbour city of colourful wooden wharf houses, mountain funiculars, a fish market and the gateway to the fjords.
Bergen sits between seven hills and the sea on Norway's west coast, with the wooden buildings of Bryggen, once the Hanseatic League's trading wharf and now a World Heritage site, lined along the harbour. The steep gabled houses stand in rows with narrow passages between them. Bergenhus Fortress, with the medieval Haakon's Hall, guards the harbour mouth, and Bergen was a capital of Norway in the 13th century.
Top-ranked sights in Bergen: Mt. Floyen (Floyfjellet), Hardangerfjord, Fantoft Stave Church.
