Your private guide can pick you up directly from your hotel in Füssen or meet you directly in Hohenschwangau, for a convenient start to the tour. First, we take the shuttle to (Marienbrücke) for some amazing pictures. # Please note: During the winter months, the bridge is closed for safety reasons due to snow. Then we walk to Neuschwanstein (the fairy-tale castle) with a tour inside. You will learn more about the Swan King (Ludwig II) king of Bavaria (1864-1886). And the history of Neuschwanstein Castle (built 1869-1886). (The castle entry is conducted as a group tour, in line with the castle's policy). Afterward, from the castle’s foot, we take a horse carriage to Hohenschwangau village. Then back to your hotel or the starting point.

About Füssen

Füssen is a small Bavarian town in the Allgäu Alps, close to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, with a medieval centre of its own.

Füssen lies in the Allgäu, in the far south of Bavaria, where the Lech River leaves the Alps and the Austrian border is only a few kilometres away. Its medieval centre has narrow lanes, painted houses and the High Castle, whose walls are decorated with painted windows, while the baroque monastery of St Mang stands beside the river. The town has long been a centre of lute and violin making.
