  • 5Charming Puebla with a Great Guide

Ernesto was a great guide, and Puebla is such a charming city. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend the tour

  • 5Excellent experience that I’d recommend to others

Ernesto was an excellent tour guide. He was more than capable of transitioning from Spanish to English, sharing his vast knowledge of the region as well as anecdotes. Pedro was an excellent driver. He safely took us to each location.

  • 4Cool tour with several...

Cool tour with several stops. Great view in Cholula and beautiful cathedrals/ Tonantzintla with some history explained. Puebla historic square was more free time. We did the included lunch. The appetizers tacos and enmolada were good but main dish was very mid. Recommend getting lunch somewhere else. Annoying waiting for people to get back to the bus but wasn’t the tour guides fault. On that note this tour requires you to listen and plan your activities when given free time so you can make it back to the bus so if you don’t want to do that this isn’t for you. They will not be guiding you the whole time so please listen to instructions for the sake of others.

  • 5Wonderful day trip with an excellent guide

We had a wonderful day visiting Cholula, Tonantzintla, and Puebla. The tour was well organized and a great way to explore these beautiful places without having to arrange transportation ourselves. Alicia was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the day. I especially appreciated that the tour was bilingual. I’m learning Spanish, so hearing the explanations in both Spanish and English was genuinely helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. One tip: I would not recommend booking the lunch option in advance, especially during chiles en nogada season. The prepaid lunch is a fixed menu, so you don’t really get the opportunity to try that seasonal specialty or choose something else—unless you’re eager to eat two full meals! It’s better to keep lunch flexible and order whatever appeals to you on the day. Overall, this was an interesting and memorable day trip. Highly recommended, especially with Alicia as your guide!

  • 3Average

Overall, this tour was average and somewhat overrated, especially considering the long travel time. Cholula was mainly worth seeing for its pyramid and church, while Puebla offered some historic buildings and churches. It may appeal to people particularly interested in churches. In Puebla, we had a 45-minute guided walk followed by two hours of free time after lunch, which felt excessive. The restaurant was also poorly chosen—several blocks away from the city center, despite many better options in the City Center (eight-minute walk away). Overall, the itinerary could have been planned much better, especially considering the long travel time and limited attractions.

About Mexico City

Mexico City is a vast, high-altitude capital built over the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, rich in museums, murals, markets and outstanding food.

The Zócalo, one of the largest squares in the world, is framed by the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, where Diego Rivera's murals tell the story of Mexico. Beside them, the excavated Templo Mayor reveals the heart of the Aztec capital, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes, with its marble exterior and Art Deco interior, stands a short walk west.

Top-ranked sights in Mexico City: Teotihuacán, Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Frida Kahlo Museum (Museo Frida Kahlo).
