Highlights

6:00 am to 06:30 am - We will pick you up from your Hotel in the city of Arequipa and transfer you to the Pillones Waterfall, in approximately 02 hours we will be arriving at the starting point of the trek. We will make our first stop in the town of Pampa de Arrieros which was before the entrance to the white city for people arriving on board the train. 10:30 am - We will arrive at the starting point of the trek. We prepare warm clothes because the height is quite cold. To get to the pillion waterfall, we will have to go down a rock slope very carefully and a tour along the side of a river before reaching the waterfall. 01:00 pm - We will arrive at the Imata stone forest where we will be an average of 40 minutes to be able to take all the photographs that our imagination allows us. 05:00 pm - Arrival to the Center of Arequipa.

  • 4Natural beauties.

This was a relaxing experience where we even saw a troupe of vicuña passing by. Our guide was fun and informative - nice combo. I would have liked to do more hiking. Other than that, an enjoyable day at high altitude in a gorgeous countryside.

  • 5Amazing trip

Absolutely loved this day trip, the rock forest and waterfall were spectacular! Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English so I feel like I got the most out of the tour.

  • 4Bad communication, but nice tour

Good tour, however communication before the tour was very difficult 😞 had to send 3 e-Mails and 2 what’s up to get finally a response about pick up place and time. This was unnecessary stress

  • 3Less than expected

I expected more. The tour leaves from Arequipa in the morning, you do some stops on the way with the highlights being the Stone Forest and the Pillones Waterfall. Basically you sit in the bus the whole day, the stops and short hikes only take a few minutes and almost no distance. So if you are looking for a hike, this one is not your tour! Most other guests will be elderly aunts in their Wednesday-to-church-pumps. The views over the vast landscape are great, but this is included in and one of the tours you can do in the area. Not recommended if you are looking at least for a little bit of adventure or outdoor activity.

About Arequipa

Arequipa, in southern Peru, is a white-stone colonial city beneath the cone of El Misti volcano, close to the deep Colca Canyon.

Arequipa lies at about 2,300 metres in the dry southern Andes, with the cone of El Misti volcano rising above it and Chachani and Pichu Pichu on either side. Its centre is built from sillar, a light volcanic stone that has earned it the name of the White City. The Plaza de Armas has arcades, palms and the cathedral, whose façade stretches the full length of one side.
