Highlights
Join us for a small-group Northern Lights adventure from Bodø where we go all-in to give you the best possible chance of seeing the Aurora. We follow the weather, cloud cover and Aurora forecasts throughout the evening and use our local knowledge to decide where to go. If conditions around Bodø are not favourable, we go further into the countryside, sometimes towards the Swedish border. We don’t have a fixed turnaround time. When conditions are challenging but there is still a realistic chance of seeing the Northern Lights, we stay out longer, giving the skies more time to clear. Some nights this means returning to Bodø as late as around 2 AM. Our approach has resulted in an Aurora sighting rate of around 85%. We travel in a comfortable Mercedes 4WD van with a maximum of six guests. We’ll share local knowledge about the landscape and the Aurora, take high-quality photos for you, and provide warm drinks and snacks. Warm clothing and headlamps are also available if needed.

5The Best Northern Lights Tour in Bodø? Ivar Goes the Extra Mile
Ivar truly cares about ensuring you have the best experience—not just with the Northern Lights, but with your entire stay in Bodø. He runs a top-notch tour; he covers every detail and takes you wherever necessary to give you the best chance of seeing the lights. He also takes spectacular photos—he really exceeded my expectations.
5Good
It was a great experience, but because it was cloudy, we had to drive south. Luckily, the guide found an ideal spot and we were able to see the aurora borealis quite clearly.
5Dream trips
“The guide was very informative and helped us find the aurora. We received advice on how to photograph the lights and enjoyed a hot chocolate while waiting. The aurora appeared, and we had an excellent evening
5First time ever to see the Northern Lights
Ivar was a knowledgeable guide who knew the best places to view the Lights. He was also good at keeping us all safe in the dark.
5Searching for the lights… waiting and boom, FINALLY!
We had to wait a little and search some for the lights but when they came it was breathtaking. We wouldn’t have been able to find them without Ivar and Trinne. Ivar also shares his photographs after the trip which are in themselves worth so much. The whole tour was well worth the money!
5Do it.
Loved everything about this experience. We were hesitant to book due to it being early in the season and I’m so grateful we did! Our tour guides, Ivar and Trine, were amazing and did everything to ensure we had the best experience possible. They truly went above and beyond to provide a unique and tailored experience for their group. We loved the small group experience and getting to share stories, pictures, and laughs with other travelers from all over. Glad we did this because It really is once in a lifetime a lifetime to see the northern lights dancing! My advice to you- book the experience and set your phone down. Pictures will never do the experience justice. Ps: Ivar takes pictures and emails them after :)

About Bodø
Bodø is a coastal city in northern Norway just above the Arctic Circle, the gateway to Saltstraumen's tidal whirlpools and to the Lofoten islands.
Bodø is a modern seaside city in Nordland, northern Norway, at about 67 degrees north, a little above the Arctic Circle. It was largely rebuilt after bombing in 1940, and its centre is a compact grid of low buildings, a harbour, and a cathedral with a separate bell tower. The Norwegian Aviation Museum, shaped like a propeller, and the Kjerringøy trading post, a preserved nineteenth-century merchant station, are the main sights.
