About Montego Bay
Montego Bay, on Jamaica's northwest coast, is the island's best-known resort town, with reef-fringed beaches, rum-fuelled nights and green hills behind.
The beaches along the Hip Strip, as Gloucester Avenue is known, are the centre of seaside life, with clear water, bars and craft stalls, and Doctor's Cave Beach has drawn bathers for generations. Offshore, the Montego Bay Marine Park protects coral reefs and seagrass beds that reward snorkelling and glass-bottom boat trips.
Top-ranked sights in Montego Bay: Dunn's River Falls, Rose Hall Great House, Hip Strip (Gloucester Avenue).
