Itinerary
Experience one of the world's most unforgettable wildlife encounters with our Gray Whale Watching Tour to Magdalena Bay, one of the best places on Earth to observe these magnificent marine mammals. Your adventure begins with an early morning scenic drive across the breathtaking landscapes of the Baja California peninsula toward the peaceful fishing community of López Mateos, on the Pacific coast. Upon arrival, board a traditional local panga with an experienced whale-watching captain and venture into the calm waters of Magdalena Bay, where gray whales return every winter after their incredible migration from Alaska. Unlike many whale species, gray whales are famous for their natural curiosity. During the season, they often approach the boats on their own, allowing visitors to witness extraordinary close encounters that create unforgettable memories while always respecting wildlife regulations. After your adventure, relax and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

About Loreto
Loreto is a small town on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California Sur, with the first permanent mission of the Californias and a marine park offshore.
Loreto sits on the Gulf of California, also called the Sea of Cortez, on the eastern coast of the Baja California peninsula, below the Sierra de la Giganta mountains. In 1697 Jesuit missionaries founded the mission of Nuestra Señora de Loreto here, the first permanent mission in the Californias, and the town was the capital of the Spanish territory for decades. The stone mission church and its museum stand in the old centre.
