In the morning, our driver/guide can meet you at Guilin/Yangshuo hotel, the pick up details as follows: Pick up 7:40am at Guilin hotel, 45 minutes driving, 30km. can drop off at Guilin or Yansghuo at the end of tour. Pick up 7:00am at Yangshuo hotel, 70 minutes driving, 100km. but just drop off at Yansghuo at the end of tour.

2. We will boarding the boat from Zhujiang pier during 8:40am--9:00am and The cruise lasts approximately 4-hours (from 9:20am-13:30pm). During the whole river cruise tour, you can relax on the boat and take in the majestic scenery of the Li River. Glide along the water, with the hills and the rugged nature around you on all sides. Enjoy the picturesque landscape, dip your toes into the crystal clear water, see the buffalos swimming or eating water weed in the river, and the fisherman drawing the nets.

3. After the river cruise, we will visit the Yangshuo West street for 30 minutes. The West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. Situated at the center of Yangshuo County, the street has become, since the 1980's, a window of eastern and western culture and the biggest 'foreign language center' in China. It is the most prosperous district in Yangshuo, and, each year, approximately 100,000 foreigners come here on their travels or to attend advanced studies. Visitors are attracted to West Street by its unique mix of cultures. The West Street is 517 meters (1,696 feet) long and 8 meters (26 feet) wide, meandering in an 'S' along its length. Being completely paved with marble it is a typical example of a southern China street. It is greatly admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like setting. There is a saying about it that 'half is village while the other half is stores'.

4. Next, go to the Cloud 9 Restaurant or Yangshuo cooking school for the cooking lesson and learn how to cooking the Chinese food. The cooking lesson lasts for 3hrs. The cooking class starts by visiting a local farmers' market which is divided into two separate parts: the vegetable part and the meat part. In the market you are able to see various types of vegetables, meats and other ingredients. Rows of stalls are lined up in the giant hall displaying fresh fruits and vegetables. The teacher will explain the use of each leaf, root and stem on the table. At the meat part, animals such as chickens, ducks, rabbits and cats are kept in cages alive. Visitors will be asked if they are willing to walk through the live animal market. It is a disturbing sight to see animals being killed in the market and sometimes people skip the visit. After visiting the local farmers' market, you will go back to the cooking school. The practice class begins after several minutes' rest. Normally the class size is a minimum of two people and a maximum of 28 people and it is taught in English. Each participant is provided with their own personal cooking station that includes necessary ingredients, a gas burner, a full chopping block and a heavy Chinese wok. Three dishes which include two meat dishes and one vegetarian dish will be chosen by the participants together for the cooking lesson. During the class, the teacher will impart to you the stories and secrets of Chinese cuisine in a friendly and fun atmosphere. How do you properly heat a wok and when do you toss the fresh vegetables into the sizzling oil? How do you chop the meat in the correct way and how do you sear fish in a smoking hot pan? You will find the answers in the interesting cooking class. After the class, you can sit down to enjoy your culinary creations and explore the Chinese culture with the other members.

About Guilin

Guilin, in Guangxi, is a river town among steep limestone peaks, best known for the Li River and the karst hills of classical Chinese painting.
