Itinerary
Meet the team in central Valladolid at 7:00 AM and complete check-in before the morning departure. After a brief period to organize the group and boarding, the van leaves at approximately 7:30 AM. Travel is provided in comfortable panoramic vans, making Valladolid a convenient starting point for visiting Chichen Itza without the longer transfer from Cancun or the Riviera Maya.
Following an approximately 1-hour drive, arrive at Chichen Itza and begin an exploration of one of the most significant cities of the ancient Maya civilization. A guide will accompany the group for approximately 2 hours, explaining the history, architecture, beliefs, and ceremonies connected with the archaeological site. See the Temple of Kukulkan and learn about the famous serpent-like effect created by sunlight and shadow around the equinox. The visit also introduces the Great Ball Court, recognized as the largest in Mesoamerica, along with the traditions and ceremonial meaning associated with it. Other important areas may include the Temple of the Warriors and its rows of stone columns, as well as the Sacred Cenote, historically connected with offerings and Maya spiritual practices. Together, these monuments provide a closer understanding of the rituals, engineering, legends, and symbolism that shaped Chichen Itza.
Once the archaeological visit is complete, reboard the van for the journey back to Valladolid. The tour finishes at the same original departure point around midday, concluding a morning centered on the history and cultural legacy of Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
