  • 5A wonderous walk

Our guide Alex (girl) gave us a really good talk and draw what she was explaining in the dirt about the formation of both rock formations

  • 3Not much bang for your buck

It was just ok. The guide was informative, but the hike was a brief out and back to one single canyon - perhaps an hour walk. We did a self-guided tour of Ayers Rock the day before and it was just as interesting, enjoyable - and a lot less expensive! Would have rather done a self guided tour here too.

  • 4The guide Alex was great...

The guide Alex was great and very informative However if you are older or not fit this walk is not easy on very uneven terrain. The small bus was crowded and stifling hot. The area was absolutely beautiful and we felt that we were unable to make the most of our tour

  • 5Kata Tjuṯa Waḻpa Gorge

Waḻpa gorge at Kata Tjuṯa is beautiful to walk through, the colours in the afternoon were vibrant. It is rocky so wear sturdy shoes and a hat for sun protection. Our Seit guide Annie was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and was able to highlight geographical and natural history information and talk about the various plants in the gorge. The experience was magical to have visited this amazing part of central Australia.

About Uluru

Uluru is a huge red sandstone monolith in the desert of Australia's Northern Territory, sacred to the Anangu and the centrepiece of a World Heritage park.

Uluru rises 348 metres above the flat red plain of Australia's Red Centre, and a walk of about 10 km circles its base, passing waterholes, rock art and cliffs fluted by wind and rain. It is sacred to the Anangu, the traditional owners, who share its stories at the cultural centre in the park. The park is listed as a World Heritage site for both its natural and its cultural value.
