About Yangzhou
Yangzhou is a historic canal city in Jiangsu, where the Grand Canal meets the Yangtze, with classical gardens, a slender lake and a famous fried rice.
Yangzhou grew rich as a trading hub on the Grand Canal, especially through the salt trade of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and its merchants built private gardens that survive today.
