Experience the best of Zamami-son
Zamami is a small island village in the Kerama group west of Okinawa, known for its clear Kerama blue water, coral reefs and winter humpback whales.

Zamami Village covers Zamami Island and a few neighbouring islets in the Kerama Islands, a short ferry ride west of Naha. The islands form Kerama Shoto National Park, created in 2014, and are known for the intense blue of their water, which is clear enough to see coral from the surface.
Furuzamami Beach, a curve of white sand, and Ama Beach are the island's best-known swimming bays, and the viewpoint of Takatsukiyama looks over the islands. A bridge links the neighbouring Aka and Geruma islands. Between January and March, humpback whales come to these waters to breed, and boats go out to watch them, while divers and snorkellers visit the reefs through the warmer months.
Fishing is the village's livelihood, and the island's few small restaurants serve the catch with Okinawa soba. The reef-diving season is long, and winter, when the whales arrive, is the quiet time on the island.
