Experience the best of Tagaytay

Tagaytay sits high on a ridge facing Taal Lake, a crater lake that holds Taal Volcano on an island in its centre. Manila families have long come here for the cooler air, and the roads are lined with lookout points and restaurants with views.

Taal Volcano is active, and its eruption in January 2020 covered parts of the region in ash. The lake shores have viewpoints over the water and the island. People's Park in the Sky, a hilltop park built around an unfinished mansion, looks over the lake, and the old Spanish-era town of Taal, in Batangas, lies to the south.

Bulalo, a beef shank soup cooked with marrow bones, is the local speciality, and the area grows barako, a strong coffee also associated with Batangas. The rainy months run from June to October, while December to April is cooler and drier, with misty mornings.
