Experience the best of Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour sits between the Tasman Sea and the forested ridges of the Great Dividing Range, about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. The town grew around a timber jetty, which still stretches into the harbour, and the hills behind were planted with bananas, a crop recalled by the Big Banana, a giant fruit-shaped roadside landmark.

Muttonbird Island, a nature reserve reached by a breakwater walk, is a nesting site for wedge-tailed shearwaters through the warmer months, and the Solitary Islands Marine Park protects the reefs offshore. Inland, Dorrigo National Park has a rainforest skywalk and waterfalls within the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage area, and Bellingen is an arty village beside a river nearby.

Bananas, blueberries and avocados come from farms on the surrounding slopes, and seafood arrives at the harbour fresh each day. The jetty is where locals fish and stroll in the evenings, and winters are sunny and dry.
