Itinerary

  1. Set out on a full-day journey along one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal routes. Experience the iconic 12 Apostles, explore the dramatic beauty of Loch Ard Gorge and enjoy the chance to spot koalas in their natural habitat, all with an expert guide helping bring the Great Ocean Road to life along the way.

    4 h

  2. Ease into your Great Ocean Road adventure with a complimentary morning tea near the famous seaside town of Torquay.

    45 min

  3. Stop at one of the Great Ocean Road’s most recognisable landmarks and capture the classic photo beneath the Memorial Arch.

    15 min

  4. Head into the eucalyptus-covered Kennett River area and keep your eyes on the treetops for wild koalas and colourful native birds. Your guide’s local knowledge helps make wildlife spotting part of the adventure as you experience the natural side of the Great Ocean Road. Please note: We will not be visiting Kennett River from 20 July to 20 September 2026 due to its temporary closure. During this period, we will visit an alternative location for koala spotting.

    30 min

  5. Take a relaxing break in the picturesque seaside town of Apollo Bay, surrounded by ocean and the Otway Ranges. Enjoy some free time to explore the town, soak up the coastal atmosphere and purchase lunch from one of the local cafés or restaurants.

    45 min

  6. Step beneath the canopy of the Otway Ranges on a guided walk through ancient cool-temperate rainforest. Wander among towering trees, lush ferns and native vegetation while your guide shares insights into the remarkable environment surrounding you.

    30 min

  7. Experience the Great Ocean Road’s most famous landmark as towering limestone formations rise dramatically from the Southern Ocean. Take time to enjoy the viewpoints, capture the scenery and appreciate the scale of this unforgettable coastline. Your guide will help you make the most of your visit and, when conditions and access allow, may also take you to Gibson Steps for a different perspective from closer to sea level.

    1 hAdmission included

  8. Explore the towering cliffs, sheltered beach and dramatic coastline of Loch Ard Gorge. As you take in the scenery, your guide will bring the area’s fascinating maritime history to life through the remarkable story of the Loch Ard shipwreck.

  • 4The Great Ocean Road Is A Must Do!

It’s a long day, but very rewarding. The booking process was easy, instructions clear, and the pickup was as scheduled. Itinerary was well paced with longest leg of the drive 2 hours - most were a bit over an hour. Our driver / guide was Jacqui - welcoming, energetic, who readily engaged with tour participants. Her commentary during the drive provided a historical perspective on what we were seeing on the journey. With a little luck, she may be your guide. You can review the trip itinerary but a few words on the twelve apostles and loch and gorge. Ensure you visit all lookout points at the twelve apostles and expect crowds. At the loch and gorge ensure you do the razorback lookout - amazing. I don’t understand why it doesn’t attract more marketing attention. Some feedback for the company. In this highly competitive tour market it might be time for a refresh of your vehicle fleet. Seats are cramped and having the first seat row behind driver higher than the rest in the minibus is not optimal. We left at 7:25 am, lunched in Apollo Bay ( good variety of restaurants), and returned to the hotel at 9:20 pm. A long memorable day that was over before we knew it. Time and money well spent.

  • 5Thank you, West Tours !!!

Thank you, West Tours, for such a superb and memorable experience! The tour was beautifully organised, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. A special thanks to our wonderful guide, Lucy, who was absolutely fantastic! She was full of energy, enthusiasm, and positivity throughout the day. Her knowledge of the places we visited, along with her excellent recommendations for the best spots to eat, made the experience even more enjoyable. She genuinely went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend West Tours, and especially Lucy! 😊

About Melbourne

Melbourne is the capital of Victoria on the Yarra River, known for laneway cafés, street art, grand Victorian buildings and a calendar full of sport.

Melbourne grew rich on the gold rush of the 1850s, and the grand buildings from that time still stand in the grid of the city centre, among them Flinders Street Station with its yellow facade and the domed Royal Exhibition Building. Federation Square and the National Gallery of Victoria stand close to the Yarra, and trams rattle along the main streets. Narrow lanes such as Hosier Lane are covered in ever-changing street art.
