Our guide will tell you the story of the arena of Verona
Piazza delle Erbe is the oldest square in Verona, and rises above the area of the Roman Forum. In the Roman age it was the center of political and economic life; over time, Roman buildings have given way to medieval ones
The square was born in the Middle Ages from the development of the Scaliger palaces, and assumed political, administrative and representative functions from the beginning. The square is framed by some monumental buildings, connected to each other by arcades and loggias.
The statue is located in the heart of the city, in Piazza Indipendenza, in the middle between the very popular "Juliet's house" and the medieval house known as "Romeo's house".
An obligatory stop is definitely Juliet's house, where lovers from all over the world leave love messages or written with the name of the beloved. Entering the courtyard of the house you will find yourself in front of a bronze statue representing the Shakespearean heroine ... It is said that touching her breast brings good luck!
The church of Sant'Elena occupies the area on which the first place of Christian worship in Verona was built by Bishop Zeno in the fourth century.
The Chapter Library of Verona is one of the oldest libraries in the world and among the most important of its kind in Europe. Within its walls many scholars have spent months of training,

About Verona
Verona, in Veneto, is a Roman and medieval city on a loop of the Adige, with a vast arena, Juliet's balcony and Lake Garda close by.
The Adige curves around Verona's old centre, and the city's Roman past is plain to see in the Arena, an amphitheatre of the first century that still stages open-air opera in summer. Piazza delle Erbe, the market square on the old Roman forum, is lined with frescoed houses and has a column topped by the lion of Venice, and the Torre dei Lamberti beside it can be climbed. The historic city is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
