About Provo
Provo is a Utah city on Utah Lake beneath the Wasatch Range, home to Brigham Young University, mountain canyons and easy access to ski slopes.
Provo lies at about 1,370 metres in Utah Valley, between Utah Lake and the steep Wasatch Range, with Mount Timpanogos, at 3,581 metres, rising above the city. It was settled in 1849 by Mormon pioneers and is home to Brigham Young University, founded in 1875, whose hillside campus with its museums and library shapes the city's character. The Provo River Trail runs from the lake shore up into the canyon.
