5Gaz was great!
Gaz was great! Skip those other mega surf schools and go with the local that adds so much to your experience. It was cold and rainy but I was smiling ear to ear with Gaz giving great guidance and making sure we were having a great time.
5Awesome day! I surfed!
Gaz is just a lovely bloke, really fun and knowledgeable and he really knows how to teach surfing and the culture of surf and respect for others in the water. We both got up on our feet the very first wave and had a great day with some really fun rides in. I didn't think I could get on my feet the first day and I bit only did but was able to stay up and ride and start to practice other skills!
5A must do in Byron Bay!!
This surf lesson is a must do in Byron Bay! Gaz, the instructor, was so funny and friendly, and amazing at teaching us how to surf! The lesson was so much fun and definitely one of the highlights of our trip! -Georgia and Sophie :)
5Great experience
Gaz was amazing !! We took our 5 yr old and he was brilliant with her! She had an incredible time and even managed to stand up and surf which we didn’t expect ! He was great with teaching you the ropes before you even get in the sea and took your safety extremely important Managed to get the grips of how to surf very quickly thanks to Gaz
5Surfing lesson with Gaz is a must!
This is a must when in Byron Bay. Couldn’t recommend Gaz enough. Me and my partner both managed to stand up and surf some waves as beginners. 🏄♂️ He also has the best jokes! Thank you Gaz!
5Best surf lesson in Aus
If you’re looking to book a surf lesson, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Had an absolute incredible time out in the sea and Gaz made sure to help us all out so we all managed to catch the waves perfectly. Shall 100% be rebooking so I think that speaks for itself.

About Byron Bay
Byron Bay is a relaxed coastal town in northern New South Wales, with surf beaches, a historic lighthouse and the easternmost point of mainland Australia.
Cape Byron, the easternmost point of mainland Australia, has a white lighthouse from 1901 and a walking track around the headland, where dolphins swim below and humpback whales pass offshore on their winter and spring migrations. The town has a long, gently curving beach, with surfers at The Pass and quieter sand at Wategos. Offshore, the Julian Rocks marine reserve draws divers to see turtles, rays and, in season, sharks.
Top-ranked sights in Byron Bay: Main Beach, Wategos Beach, Cape Byron Lighthouse.
