5Great experience at Mt Rigi
Beautiful vires at a relaxed pace. Allow time for the spa, it’s worth it!
53 hours relaxing at the spa!
This was great fun. Make sure you allow a couple of hours at the spa! We stayed there for 3 hours relaxing! The spa has warm pools, massage water jet circuits, a steam room, a salt bath and a large mixed sauna (and everyone was very respectful when we were there). The boat and rail rides were very scenic.
5Beautiful day-trip on Lake Luzern and Mt. Rigi
We had an absolutely beautiful day on this simple self-guided tour on Lake Luzern. We took a morning boat (choose your departure time, hourly) from Luzern (right in front of the train station) to Vitznau, where there is an immediate transfer to the Rigi cog-wheel train that took us to the summit of Mt. Rigi. After taking in the incredible panoramic views of the valley and lake, we chose to hike down to Kaldbad (we took the longer, scenic route; the trails are well-marked) where we stopped for lunch at the restaurant next to the train stop. Friendly service, excellent food and drink, and a beautiful spot outside on the covered porch. We next spent a couple of hours at the bath spa, which is included in the package (you can bring your own swim suit and towel, or rent them for minimal charge). This is a newer facility, very clean, and so relaxing! Highly recommended!! From that same location, we took the cable car back down the mountain to the town of Weggis, where we met up with the next boat back to Luzern (it's a well-marked 10 minute walk from the base of the cable car to the boat station). During high season, expect the boats to fill up to capacity; if you want to be assured of a seat, arrive early before scheduled departure. This package included R/T boat ride, and unlimited use of multiple cog-wheel trains and cable cars on Mt. Rigi, so it's easy to make use of your day on the mountain as you like. All the instructions were clear in the details included with your electronic ticket.
5Unlike anything I have done before!
Travel was multi step but straight forward. Boat to train, train to peak, train to spa, spend hours at spa, gondola to weggis and then boat back. Just watch the time! Bring a towel and swimsuit. We went with our 17 year old son and 20 year old daughter. Everyone loved it. Breathtakingly beautiful. Clean! So indulgent! I will never forget it!
5Breathtaking
So easy and you can travel at your own pace. Scenery is spectacular and the spa was a great way to end the hike and relax.
5This was a great tour for...
This was a great tour for our first full day in the country having arrived after a long day of travel the day before. It rained a little on the boat ride over, but after that it was a smooth ride and then easy transition to the cog wheel train in Vitznau. The sites were breathtaking. Once up on Rigi Kulm, we walked around for awhile, went up on the tower too. We headed down towards Rigi Kaldbad and got there just in time before a storm came. Unfortunately that limited the pool access at the spa but we made the best of it and the service was great. We decided to take the Cable car down to Weggis and then waited a short time till the ferry returned.

About Lucerne
Lucerne is a compact Swiss lake city with a covered wooden bridge, a medieval wall and a ring of mountains, in the heart of Switzerland.
Lucerne sits at the northern end of Lake Lucerne, where the Reuss River flows out under two old wooden bridges. The Chapel Bridge, with its stone water tower and painted roof panels, dates from the fourteenth century, although it was partly rebuilt after a fire in 1993. The old town has painted house fronts, squares and the twin-spired Jesuit church, and the Museggmauer, a wall with nine towers, closes it to the north.
