Itinerary
Meet your multilingual guide in Lucerne and start the journey. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic drive through the Swiss countryside and the Bernese Oberland, a fairy-tale wonderland of white jagged Bernese Alps. The scenery is truly captivating, and it only gets better from here!
After a 1-hour drive, stop for a short break in the famous town of Interlaken for orientation before continuing to Grindelwald.
Continue to the nearby village of Grindelwald to board the gondola Eiger Express of the newly opened V-Cableway for a spectacular ride to the Eiger Glacier station, where you change to the cogwheel train to Jungfraujoch. Stunning views of the world-famous triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau accompany you on the way and the imposing Eiger North Face seems to be within one’s grasp.
Once on the top, immerse yourself in the fascinating high alpine wonderland of eternal ice, snow and rock. Experience the discovery tour “Alpine Sensation” marking the 100-year anniversary of the Jungfrau Railway.
Visit the Sphinx Observation Terrace and Plateau with the most breathtaking panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, the neighbouring countries and the longest glacier of the Alps, the Aletsch Glacier.
Don't forget to stroll through the tunnels of the Ice Palace located in the heart of the glacier – a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!
After your Top of Europe adventure, board the cogwheel train for your descent down the mountains. Pass the holiday resort town of Wengen before arriving in Lauterbrunnen, where the coach awaits you for the return trip to Lucerne.
Your tour guide will drop you off in Lucerne at around 7 pm.

5A full day of stunning scenery!
While it’s a long day, it’s worth it! The scenery, the views, and the locations are amazing. It may seem like you’re moving along at a quick pace, but then you get to relax at the Top of Europe. Olga and Ping were very friendly and professional and did a great job of explaining the itinerary while offering fun tips.
5A great day!
This was a wonderful all day trip on several different modes of transportation, through different types of areas, with small villages, rivers, farms, and of course scenery! Alex, our guide, was amazing! And the Junfraujong left us breathless! One of the best days we've ever spent!
5Top of the World Experience
A must see when visiting Switzerland. Our group lives in mountainous regions of Montana, USA. So we are used to mountains and snow. But this experience is magical! The views are spectacular. The engineering to build the climb to the top is so impressive! We had a great guide and learned much. The only negative was the number of “influencers” that took the journey to the top in fancy outfits who then proceeded to ignore the no trespassing signs to pose for pictures for social media. Very rude. But it seems to be the world we live in. Would still recommend this tour to everyone!
5Jungfraujoch trip
Beautiful views but warn about shortness of breath. It gets better the longer you stay but at first it’s a little scary
5To breathe or not to breathe
Overall we loved the experience. The one negative was the heat… something out of the control of our tour guide. The trains, gondolas and common spaces do not have adequate cooling and air circulation to be deemed safe. Altitude also plays a part. My wife was only one of many who blacked out from heat exhaustion mixed with the thinner air. Would we go again? Absolutely, as soon as AC and fans are installed.
5An Unforgettable Experience
Right from the get-go, Gonzalo made us feel at ease. He guided us in English and in Spanish as we left Lucerne towards our tour destination. He described the mountains and gave us some history facts about the very beginnings of Switzerland which I found very cool! In each destination he was here in case anyone had questions. For anyone who is looking for a full day tour, this one is highly recommended! We had a very nice time in Interlaken our first stop and the cable car ride above the mountains was spectacular. This is a site to write on top of your list when visiting Lucerne! Plus the best place to be when the cities are hot…. Jungfraujoch is full of amazing things: don’t miss the Ice Cave, and the various exhibits around this sensational observatory on top of it. At the end of the tour, I would suggest a group photo because even though we don’t know each other, we did “make it there” together. Highly recommended for solo travelers too.

About Lucerne
Lucerne is a compact Swiss lake city with a covered wooden bridge, a medieval wall and a ring of mountains, in the heart of Switzerland.
Lucerne sits at the northern end of Lake Lucerne, where the Reuss River flows out under two old wooden bridges. The Chapel Bridge, with its stone water tower and painted roof panels, dates from the fourteenth century, although it was partly rebuilt after a fire in 1993. The old town has painted house fronts, squares and the twin-spired Jesuit church, and the Museggmauer, a wall with nine towers, closes it to the north.
