Once everyone is ready to go you will follow your guide into the off road trails in the Tonto National Forest area where you will ride for 2 hours covering about 20 miles of trail. Your guide will reorder the group after the first 10 minutes to be sure everyone can ride at their own pace, the vehicles can reach speeds of 40 mph, but not everyone likes to go that fast! You will traverse sandy washes and blow up the dust while viewing the beautiful Sonoran Desert scenery. • 5Cowabunga! UTVs in the desert! The good and the awesome (no bad)!

This was the 3rd time that we've done the ATV/UTV VIP Experience with Stellar Adventures through the Innovate CISO/CIO/Cybersecurity Leaders conference which is held every fall in Scottsdale. Another great morning of riding over the hills and through the slot canyons in the Sonoran Desert. The first time was in 2023 and Crazy Mitch was our guide. He rotated every UTV in the group to the front so that everyone got to be photographed and videoed racing down the trails. Mitch had us as the lead UTV on the final stretch so that we could go all out at topped out the speedo at 50MPH! We knew that we'd be back. Second time was in 2025 and again we got paired with Mitch. The second time it was right after flooding had occurred the week before, so there was a LOT of exposed boulders to watch out for and had to divert around some of them to avoid popping a tire. The trails were so different this time. Again, Mitch remembered that I liked to go all out so again we led the pack in the last leg. This last time, we were paired with Mike as our guide and he was just as crazy and cool as Mitch! We only had 3 UTVs in our pack and the other drivers were new to the experience, so they chose to ride a little slower, but not us again we were leading the group behind Mike, but on the last leg I got my buddy Chuck and his wife Barb to take the lead and experience the speed of the long straight-away back to base. He enjoyed it for sure as he was wearing an ear-to-ear smile at the finish line. The tour definitely takes you through several different landscapes, from hard pack to ruts and dips, to hills and high banked curves all while taking in the sites of great cactus some that are hundreds of years old and more than 30 feet tall. Depending on the time of year the trails can be brown and void of color looking like the moon, and other times it can be green, lush, and full of colors of barrel cactus flowers, and prickly pear cactus with pinkish red fruits, just don't hugging the Teddy Bear cactus, they look cute, but if you brush past one of those, you'll be pulling spines out of your skin for days. Most of all of you go, enjoy yourself. Enjoy nature at its most beautiful. If you are riding on the trails and see trash be sure to pick it up if you can, help keep the desert beautiful. Don't be like the Burning Man crowd and forget to pack out your trash. Oh and ONE more thing...... Be sure to tip the guides, they appreciate it and they work hard to make your experience safe and memorable. Peace

  • 5Great for family!

Our family enjoyed the tour so much that we came back and did it again! It was great for a family of four with a 6-year-old and an 11-year-old. Communication prior to the tour was very detailed and helpful. Our tour guide, Devin, was amazing! He made sure we were safe and had fun the entire time. We also loved that this was a smaller group tour, and the scenery along the trail was incredible. Our first day started a bit chilly, and Devin came prepared with ponchos and blankets for us. The snacks at the end were also a sweet touch. Highly recommended!
