  • 5Wonderful way to get a feel for Sapporo

My family had a great time with Karina in Sapporo. One thing that really makes a tour great is when the guide's love of their area really shines through. We greatly appreciated Karina's joy in describing Sapporo's history (including the Ainu indigenous people), its plants and animals, seasons, and everything else that came up. In addition to seeing many historical buildings and parks and gardens, she took us to one of her favorite restaurants where we had delicious curry soup. It was a great day, and she left us with wonderful ideas of where to go explore next.

  • 5Must do for Sapporo

We had a lovely morning with Shiunn. She was flexible, friendly and fun. She showed us some hidden spots in Sapporo and some must see sights. She also assisted with some local knowledge at the pharmacy along the way. It was great to have a local guide on our first day to help us see the sights and set the stage for us to get around on our own going forward. We totally recommend the experience!

  • 5Great introduction to Sapporo

What a great introduction to Sapporo with our guide Leo. His knowledge and in depth experience gave us a real and authentic tour. He showed us some hidden gems and for us was number 1. Perfect half day tour and thank you so much and highly recommended.

  • 1Avoid at all time, not recommended.

This is one of the worse guided tour we have as frequent international travels. The quality of the guide is so bad, he doesn't really know the local area and culture. Didn't really engage conversation during the whole time, just share some basic information which anyone can find it online, could not answer most of our questions. We had to pay for tickets for ourselves and the guide. Definitely not recommended.

  • 5Sapporo in a day

Shiunn provided great company and lots of insights for exploring Sapporo! She took me all around the city, introduced me to some local bites, and taught me a lot about the history oh Hokkaido.

About Sapporo

Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, is a grid-planned city of wide parks, an annual snow festival, miso ramen and mountains close behind.

Sapporo was laid out as a grid in the 1870s, when Japan's government developed the northern island, so its streets are wide and straight, split by Odori Park, a long green strip through the middle. The red-brick former Hokkaido government building and the white clock tower, both from the Meiji period, recall that era, and the Hokkaido Shrine lies in a wooded park in the west.

Top-ranked sights in Sapporo: Odori Park (Odori Koen), Susukino, Sapporo TV Tower.
