Itinerary
The City of Puerto Limon is the most important one in the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. It is located in the Province of Limon, where important aspects of the Afro-Caribbean culture will be explained by our tour guide.
Parque Nacional Cahuita Click to open side panel for more information is a stunning protected coastal area on Costa Rica's southern Caribbean coast, uniquely known for its blend of land and marine ecosystems. It protects over 2,600 acres of land and a massive 55,000-acre marine reserve that includes one of the country's largest and most developed coral reefs.
Moín is a vital port city located just a few kilometers west of Puerto Limón on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. It serves a unique dual purpose: it houses the country’s ultra-modern, high-tech container terminal (APM Terminals Moín) handling major international trade, while simultaneously acting as the primary gateway to one of Central America's most pristine wilderness areas.
Restaurante Finca Santa Rosa & Souvenir is a popular and strategic roadside stop located along Route 241 in the Santa Rosa / Pueblo Nuevo area, just south of Puerto Limón heading toward Río Banano. Nestled in a peaceful setting surrounded by lush, tropical greenery, it serves as an excellent operational or rest stop for travel groups and independent tourists moving through the Limón province.
Playa Bonita is a picturesque and popular beach located just a few kilometers north of downtown Puerto Limón. Characterized by its soft sand, framing palm trees, and a distinctive rocky shoreline, it serves as the primary coastal gathering spot for both locals and visitors looking to experience Limón's relaxed seaside culture.

About Limón
Limón is Costa Rica's main Caribbean port, an Afro-Caribbean city on a humid coast and the gateway to Tortuguero's canals and the Cahuita reef.
Puerto Limón is Costa Rica's principal Caribbean port, a cargo harbour and provincial capital where the coast curves beneath green hills and rain clouds. Many of its people descend from Jamaican and other West Indian workers who came in the nineteenth century to build the railway to San José, and their English-influenced Creole, music and cooking shape the city. Parque Vargas, a palm-shaded park, runs along the seafront.
