Itinerary

  1. Opened in 1933 primarily for political prisoners, Dachau was converted into a concentration camp as the war progressed, where some 41,000 prisoners were murdered. Those that survived were put through a living nightmare in this ‘school of violence’ for its SS operators. The permanent exhibition, opened in 2003, follows the ‘path of the prisoners’ from their arrival through to death or liberation by Allied troops. The stop is for 2 hours. The rest of the time is for transportation.

About Passau

Passau is a Bavarian city on a peninsula where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet, known for its Baroque old town, cathedral organ and river cruises.

Passau sits on the Danube at the Austrian border, where three rivers meet: the green Inn joins the blue-grey Danube, and the dark Ilz flows in from the north. The old town fills the narrow peninsula between the first two, with Baroque houses, arcades and the green copper domes of St Stephen's Cathedral. The cathedral's organ is among the largest in the world.
