Itinerary
Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, and travel to Alexandria. Descend into the underground tombs of this “Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages” site. A blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman design, the Catacombs feature ornate sarcophagi, carved pillars, and a central rotunda where different cultures meet in one hauntingly beautiful space.
Stand before Pompey’s Pillar: a massive red granite column rising 25 meters, set among ruins that once served as Alexandria’s most important temple complex. Nearby, visit the Serapeum—an underground temple and library where ancient knowledge and worship converged.
Perched on the Mediterranean shore where the storied Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood, this 15th‑century fortress offers fortified walls and sea-swept views. Explore its ramparts and vaulted dungeons, and capture the dramatic waves crashing against the rocks.
Visit the modern marvel inspired by the Great Library of antiquity. The vast reading halls, artistically inscribed walls, and state‑of‑the‑art collections offer a serene and intellectually inspiring counterpoint to the day’s historical discoveries.
Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch at a recommended Mediterranean-ahead restaurant, savoring local flavors and catching your breath before heading back to Cairo.
After lunch, settle in for the comfortable drive back to Cairo. Enjoy scenic views or a quiet rest as your private vehicle returns you to your hotel, concluding a full day of coastal exploration, history, and discovery—without the need for an overnight stay.

About Cairo
Cairo is Egypt's sprawling capital on the Nile, where the Pyramids of Giza meet medieval mosques, busy bazaars and the treasures of the pharaohs.
On the western edge of the city, the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx rise from the desert plateau, with the step pyramid of Saqqara and the ruins of Memphis further south. Cairo's great museums, the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square and the vast Grand Egyptian Museum beside the plateau, hold artefacts spanning thousands of years.
