About Agnes Water
Agnes Water is a small surf town on Queensland's Discovery Coast, next to Seventeen Seventy, where Captain Cook first landed in what is now the state.
Agnes Water is a small beach town on Queensland's Discovery Coast, between Bundaberg and Gladstone, joined to the neighbouring settlement of Seventeen Seventy. Agnes Water has an ocean surf beach, which is unusual this far up the Queensland coast, while Seventeen Seventy sits on a sheltered creek and inlet, and its name recalls Captain Cook's landing at Bustard Bay in May 1770.
