About Newport Beach
Newport Beach, on California's Orange County coast, is a harbour city of sandy beaches, sailboats, small islands and a long peninsula.
Newport Beach curves around Newport Harbor, a large sheltered bay dotted with sailboats and small islands, in Orange County south of Los Angeles. The Balboa Peninsula, a narrow strip with the ocean on one side and the harbour on the other, holds Newport Pier, the 1905 Balboa Pavilion, the Fun Zone with its Ferris wheel and the small car ferry to Balboa Island, a densely built island of cottages.
