Highlights

At Heart of Alaska Tours, we believe the best way to experience Alaska is with someone who truly calls it home. We're a locally owned small business, not a large tour company running guests through a script. When you travel with us, you're not just another seat on a bus. We keep our groups small so we can share the places, stories, and experiences that made us fall in love with Alaska in the first place. Our guides have spent years exploring Alaska's backroads, trails, wildlife areas, and small towns. We know where to stop for the best views, where wildlife is often seen, and how to adapt each day to make the most of your adventure. We focus on authentic Alaska experiences, genuine hospitality, and personal service. There are no rushed schedules,—just unforgettable adventures led by people who are passionate about sharing the true heart of Alaska. Our goal is simple: to help you experience Alaska the way locals do and leave with memories that last a lifetime.

  • 5WHAT A BLESSING!

AND WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I didn't do the hot spring soak but looked around the property and did the Ice Museum. Nice, nice, nice! I even saw a teen moose on property that willingly struck a pose for me! My incredible, top-of-the-top-notch guide John decided to take me even though I was the only one who signed up for the tour. I am so thankful he did because it was an unbelievable experience to see the aurora borealis in all its glory. I would've missed my bucket list item had he chosen not to go. He was so kind, attentive, and very personable. John's knowledge is without end and he easily shared it with me. If you get John as your guide, count yourself blessed! He will make your tour beyond memorable and so special!

  • 5Dear friend who’s reading this. Go! You’ll love it!

This is one of the most beautiful memories I’ve made in the US! Jonathan was amazing, made the trip fabulous telling us abt the history of Alaska, really attentive and a great photographer. Maya at the Ice museum made the activity fun. The museum is gorgeous! I was impressed. The whole place is like a postcard! The hot springs are perfect! I do not like hot tubs. But Hot springs are not the same. Water feels like a big warm hug walking in. You dont feel your skin on fire . ! My body felt good while in the water and for the rest of the night! Highly recommend this tour!

  • 5Moose Alert!

This was such a cool experience! The ice museum and appletinis were so amazing! The hot springs were absolutely wonderful. To make the experience even more memorable, we saw a moose on our way to the Springs, and as we were leaving, we spotted two more moose! It was such an incredible surprise and definitely a highlight of the tour! I would highly recommend this tour! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • 5Very good

Travelling an hour and 20 minutes by minibus to Chena Resort. It was a 'bumpy' ride due to road conditions.

About Fairbanks

Fairbanks, in Alaska's interior, is a river town on the Chena, a gateway to the Arctic with long summer days, winter auroras and gold-rush history.

Fairbanks lies in the broad Tanana Valley of interior Alaska, on the Chena River, roughly 200 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle. It began as a trading post in 1901 and boomed after gold was found nearby in 1902; its mining past is shown at Pioneer Park, with its old buildings and sternwheeler. The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to the Museum of the North, with Alaska Native art and natural history.

Top-ranked sights in Fairbanks: Trans-Alaska Pipeline Viewpoint, Dalton Highway, Chena Hot Springs Resort.
