About Wilmington
Wilmington is a historic port city on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina, with a brick riverfront, live oak-lined streets and beaches nearby.
Wilmington stands on the Cape Fear River in south-eastern North Carolina, a few kilometres from the Atlantic. Its historic district preserves streets of nineteenth-century houses shaded by live oaks, and a riverwalk runs along the waterfront past shops, cafés and docks. The Battleship North Carolina, a Second World War warship, is moored across the river as a museum.
