Itinerary
The Peace Memorial Park is the symbolic heart of Hiroshima, dedicated to the memory of the 1945 atomic bombing and to world peace. Your guide will walk you through the leafy grounds along the river, explaining the Cenotaph, the Peace Flame and the Children's Peace Monument.
The Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the skeletal ruin left standing near the hypocenter of the 1945 bombing. It is Hiroshima's most powerful symbol of peace and resilience.
The Peace Memorial Museum tells the story of Hiroshima and the human impact of the atomic bomb through powerful exhibits, photographs and personal belongings. A moving, deeply educational experience.
On Miyajima Island, the iconic Itsukushima Shrine appears to float on the sea, its great vermilion torii gate rising from the water at high tide - one of Japan's most beautiful and photographed views.
Shukkeien is an exquisite Japanese landscape garden dating from 1620, with a central pond, miniature scenery, arched bridges, tea houses and seasonal blossoms in the heart of Hiroshima.
Hiroshima Castle (広島城, Hiroshimajō), also called the Carp Castle, is a notable example of a castle built on a plain in the center of a city. Its grounds are surrounded by a moat, and the castle precincts include a shrine, historic ruins, and reconstructed Ninomaru (second bailey) buildings. Built in 1589 by the powerful feudal lord Mori Terumoto, Hiroshima Castle was an important seat of power in Western Japan. Like the rest of the city, it was destroyed by the atomic bombing in 1945. ※Please note that Hiroshima Castle’s main keep has been closed to the public since March 2026 due to safety concerns. The castle can still be viewed from the outside, while the Ninomaru buildings, Ninomaru Museum Shop, and Sannomaru area remain open to visitors.
The Orizuru Tower stands beside the Peace Park with an open-air observation deck offering sweeping views over the Atomic Bomb Dome and the city, plus a striking paper-crane art wall.
Okonomimura is a multi-floor food hall packed with stalls serving Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki - the city's famous layered savory pancake of noodles, cabbage and toppings, cooked on a hot griddle right in front of you.

About Hiroshima
Hiroshima, on Japan's Seto Inland Sea, is a rebuilt river city whose Peace Memorial Park and museum recall the atomic bombing of 1945.
Hiroshima spreads across the delta of the Ōta River, whose channels, bridges and trams give the city an open feel. The atomic bomb of 6 August 1945 destroyed most of it. The Peace Memorial Park beside the river holds the Atomic Bomb Dome, a ruined building left standing and listed by UNESCO, the Peace Memorial Museum and the Children's Peace Monument.
