About Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids is Michigan's second city, once a furniture hub, on the Grand River, with craft breweries, a sculpture park and Lake Michigan close by.
Grand Rapids grew beside rapids on the Grand River and became known as the Furniture City after its factories supplied the nation in the late nineteenth century. Its downtown has riverside walks, museums and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, which honours the president who grew up here and is buried on its grounds.
